Services
Individual Therapy:
During individual therapy, the client and therapist engage in one-on-one sessions in a private and confidential setting, while also in a safe and supportive environment. The therapist employs an eclectic approach, drawing on a variety of therapeutic techniques and theories tailored to the individual needs of the client. During these sessions, the client is encouraged to explore and discuss their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences openly. Through active listening and empathetic understanding, the therapist helps the client gain insight into their emotions and behaviors. Individual therapy may be short-term (focusing on immediate issues) or long-term (delving into more complex problems). The number of sessions and the frequency of appointments depends on the individual’s situation and the recommendations of the therapist.
Couples Therapy:
Through structured exercises, open dialogue, and therapeutic techniques tailored to the couple’s specific needs, couples therapy aims to strengthen the relationship, enhance intimacy, rebuild trust, and develop healthier ways of relating to each other. The goal is to help the couple improve their connection, resolve conflicts constructively, and create a more satisfying and fulfilling relationship.
Family Therapy:
Family therapy involves working with families or family members to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and address issues affecting the functioning of the family unit. In family therapy, the focus is on understanding the interactions and dynamics within the family system rather than solely on individual members.
*Offering both in person and virtual therapy to anyone in the state of Michigan.
Trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART):
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals process and resolve traumatic memories and distressing experiences more quickly than traditional therapy approaches.
During an ART session, the therapist guides the client through a series of eye movements and visualization techniques while recalling distressing memories or experiences. These techniques are believed to facilitate the reprocessing of traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity and impact.
ART typically involves a relatively brief course of treatment, often ranging from one to five sessions, although the exact number of sessions may vary depending on the individual’s needs and the complexity of their trauma. ART is often used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related conditions.
